Founder
John founded Buckhalter Heating and Air Conditioning 50 years ago in 1969, knowing that he wanted to give the greater Gainesville FL community access to better heating and cooling services. John Buckhalter has become a living legend of air conditioning repair in Gainesville Florida, the other Alachua County Florida cities (High Springs, Alachua, LaCrosse, Waldo, Gainesville, Hawthorne, Micanopy, Archer, and Newberry), and throughout north and central Florida.
John has been highly lauded and in high demand since he started installing air conditioners back in 1965, whether due to his personal, direct service at residential homes and commercial establishments or through his precision installations at Disney resorts and Daytona Beach hotels.
Now in his 80’s, John continues serving his company as a mentor to the next generation. We are honored to have his expert advice and great wealth of knowledge. His insight and skills acquired over an extensive career cannot be matched.
Serene Syer and Govinda Romero
Co-owners
Co-owners Serene Syer and Govinda Romero have more than 20-years experience in property management and development. During the course of running their businesses they worked with most of the HVAC contractors in the Gainesville, FL area. When they had the opportunity to work with John Buckhalter, they were astounded by his integrity, honesty, fairness, and authentic concern for the people of his community. John’s policy of giving every customer the lowest price is in stark contrast to what Syer and Romero experienced with some other HVAC contractors.
When John started to look ahead to retirement, it was only natural that they wanted to partner with him to keep the company going, helping to promote and grow Buckhalter Heating and Air Conditioning so everyone has the opportunity to get honest and affordable heating and cooling systems and repairs in the Gainesville FL area.
